CRITICAL CUSTOMER INFORMATION
Dear valued customers,
I would like to personally thank you for entrusting your business to Abmast professional abrasives. We have built a reputation by providing quality products and service over the years, and we appreciate your loyalty and support. In order to continue this tradition and elevate our business together to an even higher level, I am pleased to announce the integration of the Abmast product line into the StanleyBlackandDecker family of products. We will be transitioning all of the Abmast customer services provided today in St-Hyacinthe Québec to StanleyBlackandDecker’s state of the art distribution center located in Mississauga Ontario as of July 7th, 2014. Please be assured that the Abmast manufacturing plant will not be affected by this change as we have every intention of growing our bonded market penetration in Canada with products manufactured in Canada. With the change comes the opportunity for our customers to have access to a broader range of products as the Abmast accounts will transition to Dewalt accounts within the new structure and enable our customers to capitalise on an extended offering of products in both the Abmast and Dewalt brands.
Together, we will continue to grow our market dominance which is driven by great products, services and innovation. Although we do not foresee any pricing or term changes that could affect your current business we do have to make a few slight changes to the pricing structure and account payment terms. Pricing will stay consistent with what we offer today but will require some adjustments for certain categories in order to align our products to the marketplace and ensure we are competitive. Also, payment terms will remain unchanged for the most part but will require adjustments in some instances. Details of this new structure will be communicated to you by your inside and/or outside sales representative before the change occurs. With the new pricing structure also comes a slight change in the freight terms. Once we transition to the new distribution center customers will automatically be placed on the current StanleyBlackandDecker accessories freight term which equates to a $25 charge for all orders under $250. Once an order reaches $250 or more the order will be exempt from any shipping charges. As for all defective returns the standard policy of getting approval from your sales representative will apply. All other details pertaining to Freight, terms and returns will be provided to you at the time of release of the pricing structure.
As one company, we are committed to providing you with all of the services that are essential to your success in distributing high performance products such as Abmast abrasives. We want to make sure that our partners can distribute our products in the most profitable way possible and we will utilize every option in our arsenal to make sure we grow this business together. We believe that customers who embrace this change alongside us will benefit immensely as we take abrasives to a new level in the months and years to come. Although we do not foresee any major issues with this change we would encourage all of our customers to make sure they have supplemental inventory on their key selling items during this time as we would not want to lose any opportunities during this transition.
